Here is what I'm using for my Kindergarten intervention lessons this week! The focus is on segmenting and blending, letter naming and sound fluency. We warm up with this Chipper Chat -this is an oldie but goodie. It is a great way to practice phonemic awareness. Students respond to the task (segmenting or blending) and then get to put a magnetic chip, or I have used colored puff balls before as well. It covers all of the phonemic awareness skills, and I have been using it for years. See Chipper Chat on AMAZON I use the monkey puppet to help them stretch out sounds. After the phonemic awareness warm-up, we practice letter naming fluency. I use the cards from our FUNDATIONS program to flash and say the letter names. We then practice letter naming fluency with either the fishing game, cookie flip game or fly swatter game. These are all in my LNF activity pack. See LNF product on TPT Next, we practice sound fluency, by using the letter cards again, but by saying the sounds. I have them either find the sounds on their tile boards or we practice writing the sounds on white boards. I say, "find the letter that makes the sound" or "write the letter that makes the sound", depending on which activity we do. To finish the lesson, we connect everything to text. I have multiple things I use on this part of the lesson, but right now my students are loving these READ and REVEAL cards from Miss Kindergarten Love. See Read and Reveal cards on TPT We use them to practice saying the letter sounds and blending the words. The students love to check and see if they are right! Hope this helps you plan your lessons! Have a great week! Amy |

I've been working like crazy over here to get some new games and activities up for you to start your school year. I just finished watching a presentation from Dr. Jean Feldman and she reminded me of how important it is to make learning fun. I remember seeing her in person one of the first years of my teaching and I really think she shaped me as a teacher. All the 💓 for her. Here are a few new games I thought you might like. Is there a skill that you do at the beginning of the year that I...
is there anything better? I hope that all of you are on break by now or at least in the next few days. I was hoping to be more productive than I am, but I needed a break. I've been spending it trying to get the teenagers to spend time with me, reading and relaxing by the pool. After I got over the week 1 deep clean and do everything that didn't get done during the school year. 🙃 I have been thinking about how to support you for the summer. I know some of you don't even want to think about...
